On August 27, 2026, a working meeting was held between the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Cybernetics, Olena Kashpur, Department of Systems Analysis and Decision Theory staff, and EPAM Campus representatives Denys Hrynov and Oleksandr Tkachenko.
During the meeting, the Dean expressed gratitude to EPAM for donating 250 units of equipment to the faculty in August.
Key Areas of Cooperation:
• Education & Practice: Mentorship for 1st–2nd year students, internships, and hands-on practice on real EPAM projects for senior and Master's students;
• Tech Focus: Integration of AI-based development tools (SDLC), Data Science, and applied mathematics;
• Faculty Growth: An upcoming AWS teacher certification program and involving EPAM experts in shaping thesis topics.
On June 17, the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics hosted a significant event — a graduation ceremony for Master’s degree recipients.
This year’s graduating class brought together talented young researchers and developers who successfully completed complex and high-tech academic programs. Even during these challenging times, the students demonstrated a high level of preparation, resilience, and dedication to their work.
University and faculty leaders addressed the graduates with words of congratulations. Master’s degrees were awarded by:
Acting Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Valerii Kopiika;
Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics Olena Kashpur.
In their speeches, the leaders emphasized that a KNU diploma is not only a confirmation of high qualifications but also a great responsibility, as it is precisely on the shoulders of young specialists in computer science and cybernetics that the mission of our country’s digital transformation and technological renewal rests. The graduates were wished courage in realizing their most ambitious plans, career success, and boundless energy for new achievements.

14 червня 2026 року відбулося змагання з кібербезпеки у форматі Capture The Flag (CTF) «Capture the Future 2.0», яке стало підсумковою практичною подією для слухачів сертифікатної програми «Основи кібербезпеки малих організацій», що реалізується факультетом комп’ютерних наук та кібернетики КНУ імені Тараса Шевченка за підтримки Google.org.
У змаганні взяли участь 50 учасників, серед яких 15 випускників програми 2026 року. Для багатьох це був перший досвід участі у CTF, однак вони успішно застосували знання та навички, здобуті під час навчання.
Формат Capture The Flag передбачає виконання практичних завдань, наближених до реальних кіберінцидентів: пошук вразливостей, аналіз атак і роботу з цифровими артефактами. Такий підхід допомагає розвивати професійні компетентності майбутніх фахівців з кібербезпеки.
Перемогу здобула команда milworms, друге місце посіла Glitch, третє — GoS Academy. Подія відбулася попри виклики воєнного часу та стала ще одним свідченням стійкості української освітньої спільноти.
Змагання організовано за підтримки Google.org, SoftServe, CyberUnit, Hackathon Expert та платформи Unit Range.
As part of a research internship in Italy (June 8–13, 2026), a delegation from the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics — comprising Dean Olena Kashpur, Head of the SATR Department Olena Kapustian, Professor Serhiy Mashchenko, Associate Professor Hanna Livinska, and Associate Professor Olga Suprun, attended the event “Mathematical Modeling for Real-World Applications and ICT.” The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of L’Aquila, Prof. Fabio Graziosi, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Italy, Ihor Brusilo.
Presentations were given on mathematical modeling and data analysis, and meetings were held with colleagues from Italy, Tunisia, and Kenya. Special attention was given to discussing the development of the joint international master’s program RealMaths, which operates at the faculty and allows students to earn dual degrees.
