On 12 August, at the ‘Chytalka’ – a student co-working space at the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics of KNU, which was significantly renovated by LUN, a long-standing partner of the faculty (the company was founded by graduates of the faculty) – certificates were awarded to graduates of the first micro-qualification programme at KNU – ‘Fundamentals of Cybersecurity for Small Organisations’. This is the first intake, the first cohort and the first such programme at the university, launched thanks to a grant from Google.org and support from Virtual Routes.
The ceremony was opened by the dean of the faculty, Olena Kashpur, and the programme director, head of the TTP department, Taras Panchenko. Virtual Routes co-director Max Smeets greeted the participants, emphasising that the programme was created not as a regular course, but as a practical tool for real strengthening of cyber security in public organisations.
EDI programme leader Olga Suprun and speaker of the Advanced Cybersecurity course Anastasia Loban also spoke, discussing the prospects for internships in the field of cybersecurity.

23-year-old épée fencer Nikita Koshman (No. 114 in the FIE world rankings), competing in individual competitions at the world championships for the first time, became the main sensation of the tournament in Tbilisi.
After confidently overcoming the preliminary stage of the competition, today in the main draw on his way to the podium, he first defeated Kasper Tafenau🇪🇪 (15:14) with a single thrust, then forced the world's number one FIE-ranked fencer and bronze medallist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Mohamed El Sayed🇪🇬 (14:11), and in the 1/8 finals, he defeated the 2023 European Games champion and two-time European vice-champion Tristan Thielen🇳🇱 (15:12). And by defeating the reigning European vice-champion among adults and world junior champion Matteo Galassi🇮🇹 (15:13) in the quarter-finals, he secured himself a medal!
💙💛Congratulations to the new medallist, his personal coaches, and our entire men's épée team led by Igor Reizlin, who, incidentally, was the last Ukrainian épée fencer to win an individual World Championship medal (bronze in 2022)!

First CTF – done!
Відбулось змагання з кібербезпеки “Capture The Future” у форматі Capture the Flag (CTF), яке було організовано і проведено як результат співпраці провідних установ у галузі.
“ATTACK. DEFEND. LEARN. REPEAT.” стало слоганом події. Пробуй, навчайся, повторюй, якщо не вийшло, але не зупиняйся! – ось запорука успіху!
Це не просто технічна гра — це симуляція справжніх кібер-інцидентів. Це реальна перевірка здібностей та командної спроможності у “бойових” умовах. Це – реальні кейси, драйвова атмосфера, звісно ж, призи для найкращих.
40 учасників, 8 команд, 4 години повного занурення. Реальні сценарії атак і захисту складали основу завдань змагання.
Переможці отримали доступ до спеціалізованих платформ з кібербезпеки, аби мати змогу поглибити знання та вдосконалити набуті навички курсу.
Подія пройшла офлайн – в офісі компанії-партнера SoftServe – в рамках сертифікатної програми “Основи кібербезпеки малих організацій” і була присвячена завершенню навчання і випуску першого набору слухачів. До речі, сама сертифікатна програма вже отримала визнання і нагороди.
